| Impress much? |
Guys, way back in 1999, when I was about to enter college, I had my very first taste of awesomeness. I had never taken any college entrance test but still, I managed to enter in a respectable state university here in the Philippines. No, I wasn't influential back then, unlike today, but sipping my first taste of awesomeness is really something I wanted to treasure for life.
It all began when a news broke to me by a high school classmate as we were practicing our commencement exercise.
High School Classmate (HSC): Hey.. have you read the newspaper today?
Me: Nope. What's up? As if I care about the news... ^o^
HSC: Oh I see... nothing really... it was just you and six of our other classmates have passed the DOST Scholarship Exam (the DOST Scholarship Examination is a scholarship exam for qualified and deserving high school 4th year students; DOST means Department of Science and Technology)... not a good news, really...
Me: Really??? O_O
HSC: It wasn't that important! Duh!
Me: Are you kidding me? I'm awesome!
And that's how the legend of awesomeness started.
The awesomeness virus scattered all over my system when I took up a college degree. I really wanted something awesome for a bachelor's degree so I took up a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education Major in Physics and Technology. I know right? The title is simply awesome!
So yeah... I am an educator. But I don't practice it. I am awesome enough to be in that field of profession. An opportunity came months after the graduation in college. It was a research analyst job where I handled physics-related research papers from Germany, China, London, United States, Luxembourg, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and other countries that give importance to Science and Technology. Ain't that awesome?
After more than a year of staying in that company in the Financial District of Makati (Makati is known to be one of the financial districts in the Philippines), I got another job offer as a writer in a science magazine. The title of the job would call us a staff writer. But I would prefer to call myself a science journalist. It's more awesome that way! Hahaha...
Now, aren't those above-mentioned stories impressive? (You: Yah.. that was sooo impressive!!! You are awesome!) I know, right! I'm awesome.
